Wizard World Comic Con Chicago 2015: My VIP experience

I'm stil overwhelmed and supposed to published a blog post about my experience with Wizard World Comic Con Chicago last August 20-23, 2015. This was my second time to attend the largest convention about comics, superheroes, horror flicks, pop culture, sci fi adventure, TV serials and a lot more geeky stuff.

I purchase a VIP pass which includes the following:
  • 4 day weekend admission
  • Exclusive VIP badge (of the artist I want to meet)
  • Photo op pass &  8x10 photo as a souvenir
  • Signture Ticket
  • Plus Walking Dead comics
  • VIP express access to Q&A panels

The 4 day event is held at Rosemont, Illinois. 20 minutes from my home, one of the best venue I've ever been so far because of easy transportation access. I went to pick up my badge on Thursday afternoon after my work so that I won't experience long lines in registration. Upon claiming my ID and wrist badge, I was told that I should not take off the wrist band because it is already washable. I said, I have to work tomorrow? Okay, I'll just wear a jacket so I can hide this thing!

Inside the exhibit hall, there were booths selling toys, action figures, comic books, magazines, celebrity photos, shirts and hundreds of Funko! There was also a Zombie Apocalypse exhibit located at the 2nd floor wherein you can find zombies inspired from the Walking Dead. For those who love horror flicks, there's a free screening for Wizard World admission attendants featuring Bruce Campbell's Horror film festival at Muvico Rosemont.

Panel discussions were jampacked! Fans lined up to ask their questions to their favorite celebrity. I got a chance to attend four panels Q&A: Milo Ventigmigla, Ian Somerhalder, Stephen Amell and Jason David Frank.

Here's the video I compiled. Fans were able to asked their questions.

Milo answered that he got 12 out of 10 if he will rate his career. Ian joked about imagining the audience naked and it is very calming. Stephen was grateful for the job he accepted as the Arrow and Jason / the green ranger's inspiring note for those who admire him in Martial Arts.

Another interesting happening inside the venue is speed dating. If you love to meet a soulmate, there's Love in the Air @ Comic Con Chicago speed dating. It's a fun way to interact and meet people with same interests. From what I read online, there were successful stories resulted in the speed dating. Oh well, I may try it next year - just kidding :P

Other celebrities who were present at Wizard World Comic Con Chicago 2015 were Jeremy Renner, Norman Reedus, Nathan Fillion, Billie Piper, Burt Reynolds, David Morrissey, Ben McKenzie, Bruce Campbell, and some WWE superstars.

I was fortunate to take home this Glow in the Dark Tokyo Vinyl Green Ranger limited edition during Wizard World Comic Con Chicago. I've heard that there were only 1,500 figures produced and 500 were available for purchase at Comic Con Chicago.

There was also a pre-show concert performed by World of Warcraft composer Jason Hayes and Video Game band "Critical Hit" The group performed songs from your favorite classic video games like "Super Mario Bros," "Legend of Zelda," "Tetris," "Pokemon" and a lot more. Guests who dressed up nicely wins the Wizard World Cosplayer contest.

My best moments at the convention were seeing my celebrities during the Panel and my meet & greet experience with Stephen Amell which I will feature on my next blog post :)
