The new Mahogany Market in Tagaytay City is now called Tagaytay Mahogany Beef Market and Bulalohan

We were surprised to see the new building and new place for the beef market and carinderia in Mahogany Market in Tagaytay City. They now abandon the old market place and all of the beef sellers and carinderia operators transferred to this new building developed by their local officials.

The new transfer was last May 1-2, during the Labor day holiday and we learned about it when we saw that the old market was demolished and our favorite carinderia Nanay Deling’s Eatery is closed even if the store is not located at the Mahogany market area, one of her staff told us to go to this new building located at the left side of the market, we can see the new Nanay Deling’s Eatery there located at the 2nd floor.

The new building is neat and clean, compare to the old market which is filthy dirty and dark. But the store operators are paying PHP6k per month and a deposit of PHP200k in order to have a permanent place in this building, btw that info came from one of the store owners in the new Mahogany Market.

But that’s okay, it will still be a tourist driven place, because we go here to buy fresh beef meat and eat yummy papaitan and bulalo…one of the beef and bulalo havens in Tagaytay City.

Last 2013, the entire market closed down due to a contamination of bacteria, they cleaned the entire place and maybe after that, they decided to put up a new building so that there will be a proper disposal of waste and also a much cleaner look.

The problem is that the table and chair space are too small.
Its best to do a take out of your food and eat it in your hotel or condo

I smell that there will be a big competition with the bulalo belt in the Nasugbu-Tagaytay Road.
