H-5, The popular Australian tv show that was loved by many kids and parents around the world is now having their first Asian cast, and that will be only here in the Philippines. This morning they introduced the new cast for Hi-5 Philippines, it’s the same concept as the Australian original show but for our local version there will be English and Filipino songs and imaginative play.
Hi-5 edutainment style was very successful and this was felt during the start of Hi-5 in 1999, For my case, I encountered Hi-5 when baby Anya (niece of my wife Lace) watches those DVD back in 2004. Fast forward to 2015, and now we have our own kid, named Ashton. He now patronizes the new cast of Hi-5 Australia since he was 1 year old, and now after 4 years, he now into our pinoy version of Hi-5.

Hi-5 Philippines will debut in TV5 this June 15, 2015 at 8:30am and 3:45pm. The show will air every weekdays with that timeslot.

I learned that the audition and try outs for the pinoy cast is very difficult. These actors will sing and dance to a song that is not familiar to them and they should be energetic, funny,wacky and also adorable for the kids. Because that’s their main target…and also parents too hahhahaha
The audition and try outs were aired on TV5 during the “5 in the air” promo before the target launch of Hi-5 Philippines.
Fred Lo, Aira Binas, Rissey Reyes, Alex Reyes and Gerard Pagunsan performed so well. I loved them already and it’s a two thumbs up for adorability likeness and also fun factor of the performance. Although the kids were a bit surprise to see a local version and not the Australian cast. But that was okay, we spotted Fely Irvine, a former cast of Hi-5, she was there to support the local Hi-5 and also promote it.
Parents and kids were happy to be part of this milestone.
I know some of the parents grew up with Batibot, but for this generation, they now grew up with Hi-5

We got an invitation to join the 1st episode taping and also be part of the kids audience.
Ash were so lucky that he was chosen to be included in the taping of Hi-5 Philippines. We were picked up by the Hi-5 van hehehe.

This is our first time to see Fely in person. In the past, me and Ashton attended 3 Hi-5 shows already and we missed Fely in 2012 because she left the cast to concentrate on other acting career.
But it was awesome to see her here…. btw, Fely is half pinay.
